A Wedding of Tradition ~ Authentic Cultural Ceremony
Step back in time to immerse yourself in Cook Islands history with a wedding ceremony that follows the traditions practiced by our forefathers. Serenaded by the drums and sounds of the ancient conch shell blending culture and tradition with betrothal of a new journey together.
A traditional ceremonial cloak to complement your own wedding garments may be provided for bride and groom to wear during the ceremony, should you choose to. Bridal wear provided will be specially blessed Tapa or rauti.
Prior to the ceremony the bride and groom will enjoy a Hot Rock His & Her Massage on the wedding day. A traditional Chief will personally supervise the ceremony giving a special blessing to the Bridal couple. Arrival of the Bride will be either a traditional “Paata” on the shoulders of warriors, or by sea in a canoe accompanied by drums, chants & conch shell welcome, followed by a bridal walk on the backs of the warriors.
The couple will share and drink from the same "Nu" (young green coconut), a symbol of their sharing of their future life together. The wedding vows will be performed by a celebrant or Justice of the Peace. A Traditional island love song & drum dance dedicated to the newly weds will be performed along with the couple receiving a Cook Islands Black pearl Wedding Gift as a remembrance.

Aitutaki ~ One Foot Island
If you are looking to elope to an exotic and unusual destination then Aitutaki is the place for you. The wedding takes place on an atoll named Tapu-ae-tai (in Cook Islands Maori) or One Foot island, located in the middle of Aitutaki’s famous turquoise lagoon. The bride & groom are transported across crystal clear waters by boat to their private atoll where they will say their vows on a secluded white sandy beach.
